Diverse is the word most commonly used to describe Hawaii's Big
Island. It has tremendous sun and surf appeal, and also boasts the
world's most active volcano. Spectacular water activities include
snorkeling, diving, kayaking, fishing and ecoadventures such as
hiking, biking, horseback riding and hunting abound. For golf enthusiasts,
the Big Island is known as the golf capital of Hawaii, with 18 spectacular
golf courses and several more coming soon.
There are said to be 13 climatic regions on earth and the Big Island
has all but two - the Artic and Sahara. Nearly every one of the
Big Island's stunningly diverse regions has its own nationally recognized
park. This, in addition to the many historical sites, make the Big
Island a must see for the traveler who wants to experience Hawaii's
rich cultural history and unique natural resources.
